Once again Blackhills hosted their annual bonfire night on Saturday 1st November. Once again, it was a "FREE" Event as we continue to offer BOGOF at the campsite, which will continue into next year 2009 with Camping on offer at pay for one night and get next night FREE.
The Firework Bonanza and Bonfire attracted many Scouts and their families from all over the County. Over 350 people attended to watch the sky fill out with "Big Bangs" and Explosions of Spectacular Fireworks.
Many Food dishes were available all night including "Pie & Peas" "Hot Dogs", "Burgers" "Curry", "Chilli" and hot drinks and Soup.
All this wouldn't have been possible without the help of the Service team both young and older members and local Scouts that turned out to lend a hand to serve food, direct cars and steward the bonfire.
"Buntons" who were the sponsors of the event complimented Blackhills on their organisation of the Event and said they" thoroughly enjoyed the evening and it was extremely safe even for the younger people attending the event", they hope to be able to sponsor the event next year.
John Reynolds "Campsite Commissioner" thanks everybody who helped make the event such a success.
