Development work on site
Turning Circle
Following on from laying 60 tons of planings in the car park, we benefited at the weekend from a further 34 tons being laid in the turning circle. Following yet another harsh winter and erosion from further up the site track, the top level continued to be very soft, so the laying of 34 tons will enable suitable firm top, drainage, and reduce the amount of mud etc. carried into the Grimley Centre.
We hope to continue to lay a further top on the area outside the Rhodes and then up the track towards the car park. No small task, and we can only have materials delivered on appointed dates when the planings can be laid immediately following, and thus not cause inconvenience to site users needing access.
Does your Group fancy a good, hard, back braking day but rewarding in that improvements to site benefit all ??
Decking outside Top building
We are still looking for assistance with the new decking to go outside the top building, the actual requirements can be viewed
on the approved plans.
Fencing
The Group how kindly laid the planings were also due to put up fencing posts up by the ranges to create a defined play area for ball games ( when the ranges are not in use ). and the area below the septics. Unfortunately the bad weather curtailed their efforts, so these tasks are still needed to be completed.
Roofing the shelter in car park
Roof trusses, and panelling is needed to the new shelter base to the side of the Eaton, once completed this will be a focal point for storing equipment and people upon arriving and leaving after their stay at the site. Additionally we hope to use it at the forthcoming BEER FEST for the band, and again at Bonfire night as a focal point for catering.
We need offers of help for all the above, those already helping on site are committed to the warden / crew building development,
So if you, your Group, your Company are able to undertake ANY of the above, please contact John Reynolds on 07710548423 Or [email protected] for further details.
Thanks you.
