Dry Stone Walling
During the weekend 2nd and 3rd September, several members of the Otley and Yorkshire Dales Dry Stone Walling Association trained and assisted a number of Scouting Adult volunteers to re-build a section of dry stone wall adjacent to site 3. The length was approx 11 metres and took two full days. The result is a fantastic repair and therefore we will be planning another training weekend on 14th and 15th October, ( 10.00 till 4.30 ) if interested please contact Ian Lund on [email protected]
As well as those who were “passed off” by O & Y.D.D.S.W.A recently, we hope they will be undertaking now, further lengths of our walls that are desperate for attention and probable re-build. We are hoping to expand our base of “wallers” in due course, by encouraging Scouts and Explorer Scouts to assist with these builds.
The Site management would like to thank O & Y.D.D.S.W.A as well as the many adults who gave their time of that weekend.

Yeah I’m famous. We are just putting the first set of throughs on the wall.
My son, Connor, was the youngest on this course (he is an explorer) – He really enjoyed it and wants to learn more. He thoroughly recommends doing this. He will be there on the 2nd day of the next training weekend as he is on a Young Leader Course.
Can I go again on 15th?
