Egg Hunt / Great Egg & Spoon Race

Sunday 10th brought 160+ Beaver and Cub Scouts, with their leaders, to probably one of the nicest sunny April morning in recent years.

Everyone registered around 10 o’clock and then after the introductions, the young people spent 45 minutes looking for the 50 eggs hidden earlier by the Easter Bunny
A total of 45 were found and as I write this report, staff are still looking for the missing 5 !!!

We quickly followed the ‘ Hunt ‘ with the Great Egg and Spoon races, teams competed in sections and had earlier, chosen a special team name especially for the day. After several heats, a four team final took place.

Just after 12 o’clock a team of Beavers and Cub Scouts lifted the top off the GREAT BIG GOLDEN EGG and we presented all those who had found one of the eggs earlier with a boxed chocolate egg, and the winning teams from the Egg and Spoon were also given boxed chocolate egg with mugs.
Finally everyone who attended also went home with a crème egg.

Many thanks to all those who helped to put on the event on the day and the Leaders giving their time to bring the young people to the event.

Here’s to a great new camping season, we hope you’ll visit us or even stay, and we’ll see you again at the Bonfire and next year.
